Character Biography: Talmai Boldrunner

Talmai Boldrunner, aka "Talmai".
Former Role: Syndicate Leader of Mistreavers, Rogue.

Current Role: Unknown

"Family Portrait" art commission from Jess-O. "Elfrique" art commission from TheJinxess. I own these prints, you may not repost either without permission.

Talmai was created to be the face man for Brightmoon Faire on Wyrmrest Accord (though technically BMF was born on Kirin Tor as Carnival, it moved almost immediately). He is very promisciously outgoing and will flirt with any female that is alive (orc, troll, tauren, blood elf, any alliance race... but not the undead).

He is also notoriously lazy, egotistical and incompetant. I used this character as a means of aiding some people to join the Brightmoon Faire (and now Mistreavers). People who wished to could join with the intention of trying to "take him down" due to some previous grevience, such as besmirching a woman's honor or conning someone out of goods (a GOOD con man doesn't get caught, Talmai is not good at anything he does). To this day I still have people I don't remember talking to coming up to Talmai in-character and demanding a chance to repair a sister/wife/daughter's honor or that I return stolen items.

The biggest force in Talmai's life, whether she's there or not, is his mother. Mother is a paladin (so she can wear any outfit in the game, the skimpier the better) who regrets the innefectual birth control she was using when Talmai was conceived. Talmai's mother is actually played by another player (and she does it SO well). The picture of the two is one I commissioned for the woman who plays Vassild (mom), as you can see Talmai is not "into" getting a portrait done, but mommy insists... with a vice-like grip on his shoulder.

Talmai was named for his paternal Uncle (who is younger and more handsome than his Father) and he looks a lot more like that Uncle than his Father. Father is practically a wretched due to his addictions, which are encouraged by mother. As long as daddy is alive but incapacitated, Mother has access to the money that Talmai should inherit.

Over the years Mother has tried to marry Talmai off. The only women she finds acceptable are those with title, land and money. She even went so far as to hold "the Noble Bachelor" event (which took place in Gadgetzan and was hosted by the Brightmoon Faire). Talmai may be lazy and incompentant but he knows that getting married is a death sentence. Once he's married, his wife dies... then he dies... and Mother gets his money. If he's lucky she'll decide he can live, to marry again.

I'm sure Talmai believes, on some level, that any woman who persues him with determination MUST be like his mother... which would mean she will eventually kill him (or worse) for what money she thinks he has. This is, in part, a mechanic I use to avoid emotional RP connections or ERP. My comfort zone limits my "relationship" RP to characters my husband has (and he doesn't play female toons).

Tacitah, another toon of mine, has close ties with Talmai. She almost married him. She hates him. She would love to kill him but, for some reason she is serving as his secretary within Mistreavers. It's a mystery that other players are welcome to try and unravel... why, if she wants to kill him, if she hates him so much, is she doing his every bidding?!

Tragedy in the Deeps

This photo journal is created for my goblin mage. Many of the references made in these entries are things only guild members or those who RP with the group would get. My apologies! Also, this issue's snapshot was taken from a laptop and is not the stellar quality you are use to seeing from Snabblescrew's Snapshots!

It is with a heavy heart that I am reporting in today with a story of the esteemed Lord Blackstone, leader of the Syndicate of Mistreavers.

At zero nine hundred and thirty-two Sir Merantalmai Boldrunner, Lord Blackstone, succumbed to a curse that rendered him deformed into the depraved shape of a naga battlemaiden. It is not clear if there is a cure for his condition.

Sir Talmai is still able to communicate, with his own voice, with the Mistreavers and rules the Syndicate from the deeps. He is doing what he can to keep himself amused while confined to his watery prison. Sir Talmai's Seneschal was unavailable for comment (not surprising... that woman is no good for Sir Talmai!).

Maybe the most important fact of this event is that Sir Talmai gave himself to protect the very person who cursed him! Enduring alterations that allowed him to swim and breathe in the underwater environment and taking on tasks better suited to fish and shaman, his thanks was a transformation curse!

Wavespeaker Tulra of the Earthen Ring must be brought to justice. She cannot be permitted to continue to abuse the power granted her by the Earthen Ring. How dare she torment and transform the very people she enlists to aid in the cause!?

Donations to help Lord Blackstone with his unexpected expenses and to aid him in remaining comfortable during his time of need can be sent care of Snabblescrew. (No refunds or tax receipts. Minimum donation of 5g in order to cover administration and processing fees.)
