RP Events: The Amazing Race

I love this event. It's not easy to organize though as it requires a lot of dedicated sign ups and plenty of volunteers.

Teams of 3-5 people (with a combined level total maximum) race from point to point directed only by clues given at the last point. The last team to arrive (and ALL team members must show up at each point) is eliminated.

I created hard copies of the clues by sending myself in-game mail and using the "make a permanent copy of this letter" button. Each clue was sent enough times to cover the teams, minus 1 for each gathering point.

You can reduce the number of volunteers by staggering characters... so I might run the starting line and have another character "parked" at the third point, while a friend takes point 2 and has an alt at point 4. Once all teams have reached the one point you can log out and back into the next location.

I recommend having one person who doesn't log out, but rather sits with the "audience" somewhere like Booty Bay. Each of the station volunteers reports to that host the details, and the host hams it up for the audience.

Make sure your clue locations aren't right at a flight path, this makes having level 60 or higher team mates more important. Also be aware of summoning stone locations and where mages can port. It's impossible to make the teams completely even, but remember that most people have alts and can choose what classes are on their teams.

I would LOVE to see this as an annual event but I think the prize needs to be big enough to make it more of a draw.
