In an effort to keep track of all the fun little games I've come across (or even invented) for in-game hilarity, I'm compiling a list here. Please feel free to use these in your own events, some are my own and some were inspired by others.
Tabard Boxing
Originally created for Pack Spirit's Bull and Bear tavern night, this event has seen it's way into Brightmoon Faire and Mistreavers, and now Tales of Eirnin.
Simply put, two combatants face off in nothing but their tabards (and jewelry if no one calls them on it) and "box" by dueling. This event doesn't work in Sanctuary such as Ebon Hold, Shattrath City or Dalaran (except in the sewer). The only rule is "don't get caught". Using spells or abilities is frowned on only by those betting against you.
Drinking Contest
I saw this game posted on the Warcraft RP forums and appropriated it for Brightmoon Faire events, it eventually made it's way into Mistreavers and now Tales of Eirnin (dwarves drinking? NO WAY!).
Two or more characters face off and count down (it's easier if a referee bearing booze counts down for the others). Each character drinks an alcoholic beverage and then types in /say, "Oi!" or "Eh!" The first person to have "...hic!" on their comment, is disqualified. Continue this process until there's only one toon standing (figuratively speaking).
Tip: Talk a lot! Making quips at your opponents until you see "...hic!" means there's less chance it will show up on your next "Oi!".
Combat Fishing
This use to work a lot better before Blizzard made it so you can't fish in combat. I got the idea from the Stranglethorn Fishing event. Two people with fishing poles duel one another and then try to fish. You can use any spell or ability in your arsenal to prevent your opponent from fishing, but as soon as you attack that person you're also in combat (rogues, mages and hunters have an advantage in this event). The first toon to fish up an actual fish wins the contest. You are disqualified if you kill your opponent (or rather, "win" the duel).
Dance or Story Contest
Telling stories or emoting dancing for prizes. Typing /dance is not enough for this contest, you must describe your actions to get noticed, use special effects in either contest for more pizzaz!
Death Streak
I came up with this one tonight, actually, while making plans for Tales of Eirnin's next big event. Two players strip down and duel, only to try and race to a designated finish line. You lose if you "kill" your opponent or if he or she crosses the finish line first. Sucks to be you if you're fighting a frost mage!
The Relay
This one isn't mine, I first saw it done by a member of Mistreavers for one of their guild-only gatherings (I may also be remembering the details wrong). Players are broken up into teams and given an item to use as their "baton". The first person from each team starts off at point A and runs to their partner at point B, trading off the baton. The second player then runs to point C to the next member of the party, trading the baton once again. Finally the last player runs to point D, the finish line.
Really simple... until you add booze. All party members must be "Completely smashed" before they can accept the baton.
Pet Duels
This use to be just for hunter pets but now more and more classes have pets that can be controlled. Simply put, two people face off in a duel but only their pets fight. Once a pet is dead that player types /forfeit to end the duel.
Sculptures
I was reminded of this event by a post on wow ladies. We use to do this with hunters. Duel a hunter and jump into their ice trap so that you're frozen in a certain pose. Now, however, the posing can be done with Deepstone Oil. The most interesting or funy or whatever, sculpture wins a prize!
"Death" Charges
Instead of depth charges. Okay, whatever, I'll think of a better name some other time. This one was posted in a suggestion thread on wow ladies livejournal community. Have a target (which can be a person's corpse) on the ground near a high structure or cliff. Contestants throw themselves from the cliff and try to die on the target. They must die. Closest person to the target wins. Adding levitate or slowfall into the mix makes it more challenging.
More to Come
I've labled this post as "Work in Progress" since I know there are more mini games, I simply can't think of them right now. Feel free to post your own in the comments!
